The Former Pubs of Hereford: The Greyhound Dog
As you drive past Asda at the bottom of Belmont Road you may remember the derelict pub that once stood where the grassy area near the superstore entrance now is. The pub was of course The Greyhound Dog.
It had been closed for many years before it was finally demolished one Sunday around seven years ago and looked in a very sorry state during its last few years.
Originally the first house in Belmont Road its origins as a pub can be traced back to the early part of the 19th century.
Below is a picture of how you will probably remember this pub, shortly before it was knocked down to make way for Asda.

I grew up in The Greyhound Dog. Strange to think of it gone now. Must have been early 80's
