Grapes, Watercress Harrys & Saracens Head reassessed

Last week we re-evaluated 3 town pubs, to read the full reviews just click on the pub names below:
The Grapes has recently been refurbed and it looks all the better for it, the interior is a lot lighter, cleaner, fresher and airier. There was a friendly welcome and lots of comfy seats to choose from; however, the pool table has vanished and there seems to have been a move away from a drinking pub and towards a more meal orientated establishment, and therefore has lost a few marks on it's old score.
  • The Saracens Head (pictured below left): aka the pub that time forgot, this is exactly the same as it's always been. However it must be said that there was a friendly welcome and the pool area and bar is ok although a bit run down- but it new mark lifts it off the foot of our ranking table.
  • Watercress Harrys (pictured below right): this is a nice open bar with plenty of tv's and would be good for watching sporting events. But on this visit the barmaid wasn't very nice and the seating isn't very comfy- to be honest I wont be rushing back.

The Live Lounge, Cardiff reviewed & Jo's Grandstand Review

Whilst visiting Cardiff for the recent Wales v England Euro 2012 qualifier we took the opportunity to review The Live Lounge. Its a great venue to check out live music and the service was good even though it was insanely busy there after the match. To check out the full review click here.

We've also had a review sent in by regular contributor Jo for The Grandstand in Hereford. Jo praises the great deals available in this friendly pub. To see the full review click here.

Reviews Updated - The Imperial, JDs, The Exchange & The Grandstand

Last month we re-reviewed a bunch of Hereford pubs. Click the below links for the full reviews:

The Imperial (top left) - Still a great pub for a drink and/or a meal.

JDs - (top right) No longer has Sky Sports which is a real shame. Lots of bar snacks though!

The Exchange (bottom left) - Very busy when we visited as the football was on. Featured a guest appearance by The Scary Man!

The Grandstand - Great for pub grub with a large play area for the kids
